Unipart Logistics Looking for Propositions Manager – New Product and Service Development at Cowley , Oxfordshire Full Time

Contract type: Permanent/ Full Time
Hours: 40 – Monday to Friday

About the Role:

You will create and launch compelling, profitable new products and service propositions in line with your business strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Unipart commercial team and shape the future of the business. You will have significant exposure to senior leadership and create a wide network across the business, opening doors to progression routes across the commercial functions.

With experience and understanding of supply chain best practices with regards to supply chain management, you will have an interest in creating new service propositions from ideation through to a detailed business case, with a strong focus on fast-paced, thorough delivery and addressing customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct appropriate research to set the strategic direction for new propositions, to deeply understand: our customers’ real and perceived needs; the market, its size, and the competitive landscape; our internal competencies and gaps; and the continuing evolution of supply chains and enabling technologies
• Understand competitor offerings in order to identify differentiated propositions that deliver value for our customers and drive revenue for the organisation
• Prepare strong business cases for new products and services, with clear benefits and financial returns on the investment required
• Build strong relationships with company operations, new business and commercial teams and ensure you deeply understand the needs of our existing and potential customers, and through collaboration, develop the technical solution, commercial and pricing models, contractual and legal requirements, branding and marketing materials for the new proposition
• Seek and develop potential partnerships or alliances with internal or external suppliers to bolster capability and proposition development
• Build awareness of the propositions internally, acting as the ‘Proposition Expert’ for the sales and marketing team until they become more familiar

About You:

• Supply chain and logistics or Business graduate or equivalent calibre individual
• Experience in supply chain and logistics
• Articulate, with good presentation and communication skills
• Self-starter, resilient, well organised, confident, with a detail-oriented approach
• Analytical and commercially aware
• Can-do attitude with a flexible approach
• Experience preparing clear and concise competitor and market research
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders at all levels
• Strong project management skills (desirable)
• Experience managing customer-facing work (desirable)
• Experience leading workshops with cross-functional stakeholders (desirable)
• Capability to identify, nurture, establish, and manage partnerships with complementary businesses (desirable)
