The Research Office works with the University’s academic community to enable its excellent research by supporting applications for research funding and placing and managing research contracts with funders and collaborators. Research Office staff is comprised of both grant and contract managers who are organised in school teams. The post-holder will be part of the Senior Legal Advisor’s (SLA) team that works within the Research Office but outside of these school teams. The SLA team supports contract managers from all the various school teams as well as other University stakeholders with legal and contractual matters relating to research. Duties will include leading or assisting with transactional work including reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex research contracts, advising contract managers and other University stakeholders, drafting templates and developing research contract resources, contributing to the professional development of contracts staff, and keeping the Research Office informed of developments in relevant areas of law.
