About the vacancy:
The University has an ambitious 2030 people strategy and we are seeking an experienced HR Data and Systems Manager to lead our systems development, advance our processes in line with business need and grow our data and MI capability via our HR System (MHR iTrent).
As we embark on our new strategy you will have an exciting opportunity to support our HR Teams through this challenging and ambitious journey. Leading a small team, you will report to the Assistant Director of People (Staff Journey) and be responsible for the planning and organising of a busy office environment to ensure that you deliver consistent and effective insight, technical support and customer service.
You will collaborate with HR teams and other stakeholders to fully understand needs, support data reporting and deliver projects to agreed timescales, thus enabling better decision-making across the organisation.
You will also work closely with the supplier in response to new and changing functionality, and will be responsible for developing knowledge, enhancing operations and producing high quality data and MI reporting to both enhance the user experience and deliver an efficient, inclusive and informed function.
About you:
You will have a breadth and depth of data and systems management experience in a large and complex organisation, with recognised specialist expertise and knowledge in database systems. You will be a systems professional with an interest in HR & Payroll, and have experience of developing and implementing HR systems, specifically iTrent, Business Objects and Power BI.
A natural completer finisher, you will have a system thinking approach to eliminate non-value-adding processes and design an efficient and customer-focused service. You will also be a capable people manager who can drive performance, delegate, and prioritise workload in order to meet team objectives.
With a passion for innovation, you will draw on your experience of managing, configuring and developing iTrent to meet the needs of the organisation, including the integration of additional modules and products. You will also have excellent data management and analytical skills, and have experience of business and statutory governance reporting.
This business-critical role will give you the opportunity to utilise your project management, communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills to challenge and negotiate confidently with a range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers, to truly understand business needs and build successful relationships.
