The role
This exciting and challenging role reports to the CEO and is key to our client continuing to continue and further develop their market position.
Forming part of the wider Operational Board, the Sales Director will work closely and proactively with other Directors and Senior Managers across the UK to collaboratively achieve the company’s goals. Our client is looking for a leader who can demonstrate drive, ambition and a big heart for team work, performance and collaboration.
As a performance motivated individual, the successful candidate will possess the leadership and drive to ensure resources are optimised to initiate and maintain long-term relationships. Contributing to the company strategy and developing the sales budget to promote profitability, the Sales Director will be responsible for the following business areas: fleet sales, trade sales and the partner network.
Responsibilities:
To grow the UK Vehicle Equipment market share whilst maximising margin and positive profit contribution.
Ensuring strong customer retention, whilst developing new business accounts for the fleet business. To pro-actively lead direct trade opportunities, making strategic investment plans for growth.
Support and build their partner network to enhance product and service coverage.
Maintain a keen eye on future trends, ensuring that our client, in collaboration with our product development and services teams, are at the forefront of the industry solutions.
To be visible and pro-active in trade associations, customer groups etc to promote our client as an innovative solution provider.
Create and deploy sales processes and tools to optimise efficiencies, whilst delivering a professional service to customers.
Ensure all resources available to you are used effectively to meet turnover and margin targets.
Build strong relationships with customers and partners, focused towards however not limited to automotive manufacturers / importers, leasing companies, regional fitting partners / service partners, fleet managers.
Define the sales strategies / targets / budgets in conjunction with the CEO and to achieve these within agreed timescales.
Working with the operations team, supporting the scheduling process to ensure capacity is optimised, whilst making sure our promises to customers are maintained.
Monitor and manage the performance of the sales team by setting and reviewing goals and identifying any training / development needs
Use industry knowledge, contacts and resources to identify potential new markets
Support the marketing team to create sales campaigns and social media presence.
Decide which exhibitions will give our client the best ROI and support the marketing team in the planning, design and attendance of these events
When appropriate prepare and present business cases to support desired / required investment. Create and deploy market leading Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Create an effective people development plan to ensure potential is unlocked and employees have the opportunity to maximise their value-add to the business.
Review employee performance regularly via appraisals and 1:1’s .
